BUSHWICK DAILY: Mysterious Multisensory Event in Bushwick Will Explore Our Unsettling Digital Lives

This Saturday Bushwick's own Ventiko, celebrated conceptual artist and multimedia darling, will partner up with several local business and artists— along with Unruly Collective—to manifest an event to transport us all.

The mysterious, one-night only experience titled "www III" is a "a multi-sensory experience investigating the power of the internet on the future of humanity." With digital landscapes as our norm and identity forming somewhere between what exists on and offline, Ventiko looks to push others in the practice of examining what really is real.

Considering her past works and hopes for this exhibition, Ventiko explains that "in addition to valuing our individuality, we must also recognize our sameness, our humanity. Over time I have noticed an increase of resting on our laurels and accepting our socio-political landscape absurdity as normality. Inspired by this acquiescence, www III uses participatory means to dig deeper into questions of accountability, responsibility, complacency..."

A short and distressing trailer draws curiosity about the digital dystopias to be witnessed tomorrow at Unruly Collective's multi-storied brownstone at 200 Cooper St. From 7 p.m. to 11 p.m. ticket holders will navigate a strange space in hopes of better understanding, as Ventiko puts it, "how we influence the internet and how collectively we are taking ourselves to the brink."

Featured artists for the evening include the likes of Maria Aparo, Kelsey Brewer, Alfredo Guezani, Geraldo Mercado, Luke Mannarino, Andrea Matorin, Florence Nasar, Luma Lumane, Gypsy, Deborah Oster Pannell and Lucy Shelby. Sponsorship for www III is being kindly provided by local community businesses: Becro Foods, Braven Brewery, Bruce Cost Ginger Ale, Bushwick Bakery, Elisa's Love Bites, Houdini's Pizza, House of Kava, L'imprimerie, Material for the Arts, Mezcal, NeedAMom, and The Rack Shack will be providing lingerie!

Tickets to "www III" are $50 in advance or $60 at the door (price includes food, drink and live performances). To purchase one, click here. We'll see you there!
